Open School Amsterdam South-East (OSB)

print this article

Under the heading 'You name it' Orgacom worked with two grade three classes of the 'Open Schoolgemeenschap Bijlmer' (OSB) to visualize the culture of their class. In interviews with the pupils, it seemed there was consensus on how one should dress as a school student. Girls even go so far as to send friends home if they arrive at school in what is clearly the 'wrong outfit'. Wearing designer labels doesn't really matter, although the clothes should reflect current trends. Designer labels are indicators of the latest fashion. During 'You name it' pupils created drawings and collages and designed their own garments. Several of these designs were produced in fabric and worn by four dummies on a green catwalk during 'Ideas For Living'.
